Dana came along with the encased universal joint. And went in to perfect the drive line on so many great cars over history.

This is the Model 13 S P Serial 96 53. Looks like a heavy duty clutch to me. It's gotta be around 30 lbs. In a fallen down pole shed.

Wire brushed and heated and impregnated with motor oil in a turkey pan over night. Hasn't rusted in the 3 years I've had it. Found a few diff number stamped into the metal as if during service.

One is 47 2 and the other 49. So looking like this was likely early to mid 1940s production date. I'll give you some dimensions. ID of input shaft 1.75. It's about 14.5 across at its widest. The upper plate looks 12.875.

There are 20 little picks or whatever they called. 3 beasty springs hold things together. As well as 3 attachment points.

6 holes around perimeter likely for trans attach. Could be a torque converter of some sorts. Hell it could just be ultra huge because in 1950 that is just what you needed. Has some red paint of the bearing housing around the bearing of the input shaft area. Maybe someone can use it. Or just use it to look cool.

Looks to be in excellent condition. Nothing looks broken or damaged.
